Three Cameroonian soldiers were killed and six others wounded in a deadly overnight attack attributed to the Boko Haram terrorist group in Hilé-Alifa, a locality in the Logone-et-Chari department of the Far North region. The assault occurred between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. local time, according to local security sources.
The assailants, who were heavily armed, managed to seize three heavy weapons and a significant cache of ammunition before retreating.
This incident is part of a broader wave of recent incursions by Boko Haram in border areas between Cameroon and Nigeria. It comes despite ongoing military operations under Lake Sanity II, a regional offensive led by the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) aimed at neutralizing terrorist groups in the Lake Chad Basin.
