Benin: Véronique Tognifodé appointed Minister of Secondary Education

In Benin, Véronique Tognifodé has been appointed Minister of Secondary Education, succeeding Kouaro Yves Chabi, who passed away following a serious car accident.

BeNews has learned that Véronique Tognifodé is the new Minister of Secondary, Technical, and Vocational Education in Benin, as of Tuesday, April 22, 2025. She will hold this new position in addition to her current role as Minister of Social Affairs and Microfinance.

Tognifodé was appointed to replace Kouaro Yves Chabi, who died in a road accident on Thursday, February 20, 2025, while en route to Parakou for the official celebrations of the 26th edition of International Mother Language Day.
