The famous Beninese singer Belmonde Z has once again been struck by tragedy. He shared the news through a post on his Facebook page.

Bad news keeps coming for Beninese singer Belmonde Z, born Belmonde Zinsou. He lost his father on the night of Thursday, March 21, to Friday, March 22, 2024. “My Father! My creator has just left me. Let us pray for the repose of his soul, Family. Thank you,” wrote Belmonde Z on his Facebook page, captioning an image that signifies mourning.

It is important to note that this tragic event occurs four years after the passing of his son Crisbel on Friday, July 17, 2020, and three years following the death of his younger sister Fidèle Alida Zinsou in April 2021. These consecutive losses only plunge the artist into profound sorrow, especially as he was recovering from a tragic accident in which he nearly lost his life.

As a reminder, on January 7, 2012, while returning from a group concert, a delegation of Beninese artists, including Belmonde Z and many others, were involved in a traffic accident in Dassa in the department of Collines. After a few weeks of hospitalization at the Departmental Hospital Center Ouémé-Plateau where he underwent leg surgery, he was transferred to the University Hospital Center Hubert Koutoukou Maga in Cotonou due to his drastically declining post-surgery health. Fortunately, after months of convalescence, he recovered, though not without lasting effects.
