HomeSportFootballBarça: Ronald Araújo, Ansu Fati among six players set to leave this summer

FC Barcelona is preparing for a major squad overhaul this summer, and head coach Hansi Flick has reportedly submitted a list of six players he wants the club to part ways with ahead of the 2025–2026 season.

Despite a successful campaign that saw the Blaugrana secure their 28th La Liga title along with the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup, several players will not be part of Flick’s long-term vision. The German manager, who arrived last year following Xavi Hernández’s departure, is keen to reshape the squad to better align with his tactical philosophy.

According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, Flick has handed sporting director Deco a shortlist of players he does not intend to keep. The names include:

  • Ronald Araújo
  • Ansu Fati
  • Pau Víctor
  • Héctor Fort
  • Iñaki Peña
  • Pablo Torre

The decision reflects Flick’s ambition to reinforce the squad with players better suited to his high-intensity, possession-oriented style. While some departures, like those of younger or fringe players, were anticipated, the inclusion of Ronald Araújo and Ansu Fati—once considered core pieces of Barça’s future—marks a significant shift in direction.

The summer transfer window promises to be busy at Camp Nou as Barcelona looks to build on its domestic success and position itself for a strong European run next season.
