Angolan President João Lourenço arrived in Libreville on Monday, May 12, for an official visit to the Republic of Gabon.
He was received in the early morning at the international airport by his Gabonese counterpart, General Brice Oligui Nguema, who was recently sworn in on May 3. The Angolan head of state was welcomed by an official delegation as well as members of the Angolan community living in Gabon.
Announced the day before, the visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations between Luanda and Libreville. According to sources close to both presidencies, discussions are expected to focus on major economic and security issues affecting both countries.
This trip reflects the two leaders’ shared intention to boost regional cooperation and deepen the strategic partnership between Angola and Gabon.
