Six teams have already secured their spots in the quarterfinals of the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), currently underway in Egypt.
Following the third round of group-stage matches this week, Senegal, Morocco, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, DR Congo, and Ghana have all booked their tickets for the knockout stage.
Senegal defeated DR Congo 2-0, while Ghana edged past the Central African Republic 1-0. The Flying Eagles of Nigeria drew 2-2 against Kenya on Wednesday. In a North African showdown, Morocco cruised past Tunisia with a 3-1 win.
The final two quarterfinal spots will be decided on Friday, with Tanzania facing host nation Egypt and South Africa taking on Zambia.
The quarterfinals will kick off on Monday with a marquee clash between Nigeria and Senegal.
